Kerala Tourism lures Israeli Tourists

A delegation of Kerala Tourism led by Deputy Director (Marketing) Mr Rajeev G. L. has participated in the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) at Tel Aviv in Israel from March 29 to 30, 2022.

The IMTM is the largest annual professional tourism fair of its kind in the Eastern Mediterranean and is designed to connect professionals from all levels of business and service in tourism and travel. It is a unique opportunity to connect with Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Corporate and Business new partners as well as Individual travellers.

Around 26,000 visitors from 57 countries took part in the marquee event this season. It is the second time that Kerala Tourism is participating in the IMTM. ‘Humans by Nature’, where focus is on people and nature, was the theme of Kerala pavilion.

Kerala Tourism is foraying into the largely untapped Israeli market to increase footfalls from the Middle-East.

Kerala was visited by 23,592 Israeli tourists in 2019, an increase of 53 per cent as compared to 15,339 in 2018, while it registered a surge of over 15 per cent in terms of tourist arrival from that country during 2013-18.
