KTDC launches Kerala’s first Caravan Tourism Package
Adding momentum to the state’s Keravan Kerala initiative, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) has come out with an attractive ‘Caravan Holidays’ package. The package offers tourists a high-end experience of travelling through the panoramic settings at an affordable rate with an array of frills, such as free breakfast and parking.
At a cost of Rs 3,999 (plus tax) per person per night, tourists can travel in a luxury caravan enjoying all the comforts while exploring God’s Own Country. The cost of the ride per km is Rs 40, and each caravan will carry up to four adults and two children.
The KTDC has entered into an agreement with caravan service providers to operationalize the package.
Initially, the package will connect Kumarakom, Wagamon and Thekkady. The journey starts at lake-side Kumarakom in the morning and reaches Wagamon in the afternoon. The next day, tourists are taken to the ecotourism hub of Thekkady where they will be provided accommodation at a KTDC property. Tourists can opt for a single-day journey or travel through the entire route.
“This whole package aims at providing a high-end experience to domestic as well as foreign tourists at a reasonable rate,” said P. K. Sasi, Chairman, KTDC.
