KTM 2022 a hit amongst Foreign and Indian Buyers
The 11th edition of Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) 2022, which was held from May 5 to 8 in Kochi, was a hit among foreign and Indian buyers. Around 1,500 buyers from 25 states and over 300 from 59 countries took part in the KTM where over 55,000 business meets across 500 stalls were carried out.
The 11th edition was inaugurated by the Governor of Kerala, Mr Arif Mohammed Khan. The governor said the state is all poised to emerge as the premium experiential tourism destination of the country. He said the strategy of the state government is also to position the state as the experiential tourism hub of the country by linking the unparalleled natural beauty with the rich art, culture and heritage of the state.
The inaugural day also saw Kerala Tourism presenting a curtain-raiser of the second edition of its Champions Boat League snake-boat race, modelled on the lines of the IPL. The Chairman of the LuLu Group said by organising the KTM 2022, Kerala would be able to send out a positive message to the world that the destination is ready to welcome tourists.
The Principal Secretary (Tourism) Mr K. S. Srinivas and Additional Chief Secretary Mr Venu V. lauded the public-private partnership (PPP) model of tourism development that has became synonymous with Kerala’s tourism growth. The Director of Tourism Mr V. R. Krishna Teja made a presentation on how Kerala Tourism is offering a comprehensive experience comprising Nature, culture, adventure, wellness, exploration, unique stays, etc., to enhance and extend the stay of a visitor to the state.
Kerala's caravan tourism project called 'Keravan Kerala' has generated keen interest among foreign and domestic buyers.
