Snow World a Hit among Visitors to Shangumugham
A snow world exhibition at Tsunami Park near Shangumugham was a hit among visitors to the beach and its premises. The exhibition, titled ‘Wonder White, Ice & Snow World’ featured snowfall, snowy grounds, bridges, trees, special lighting systems, igloo and ice ponds.
The one-month expo, which concluded on January 22, was a joint venture of the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) and ‘3D Max Imaginations’. Aimed at attracting more visitors to Shangumugham, the expo recreated an environment resembling snowy hilly areas. Visitors will first encounter a cave. From there, a door leads to snowy mountains.
Stalls, photography corners and frames, representation of mountains, audio-visual arrangements and a stage were put up at the expo. Laser show was a specialty of the exhibition. The ice for the exhibition was sourced from an ice plant taken on rent by the private company. A total of 150 kg of ice was used daily for the expo.
Visitors from all walks of life came down to the expo which was held during the evening for a month. Kids had a gala time playing with ice on the ground and experiencing ‘snow’.
