Travel opens up New Avenues, says Kerala Tourism Minister
Travel awakens words, pictures and energy hidden inside us, said Tourism Minister Mr P. A. Mohamed Riyas in his message on National Tourism Day. Travelling beyond our boundaries helps meet new people, see unfamiliar places, taste new food and know little-known lives. Because of this realization, humans went in search of new pastures, the minister said.
“Today, travel is much more than just seeing a new place. It is about knowing the history, cultural and culinary diversity of the places we are visiting, whether is it is in our country or elsewhere,” Mr Riyas said.
To extend new experiences along with memorable hospitality to foreign and domestic tourists is the priority of the government. The growth of tourism should benefit the society and people, directly or indirectly. The government gives paramount importance to this, he said.
Even if we are in the middle of the pandemic, the tourism industry is geared up to face any challenges. Fully-vaccinated tourist destination is a step in that direction. Caravan Tourism, Biodiversity circuit, Malabar Literary Circuit, Agri tourism network and in-car dining are some of the innovative projects of Kerala Tourism amid the uncertainties.
The minister said the aim is develop the entire state as a tourism destination and get its presence noted in the world tourism map.
