Kerala Tourism introduces Virtual Tour Guide

Published in Newsletter Issue No. 347 - July 2022

Kerala Tourism has launched a QR-code-based virtual travel guide aiming to spread information on tourist locations in the state easily and quickly. Minister for Tourism Mr P. A. Mohammed Riyas said it would provide information on the distance to the nearest bus stand, railway station and airport, working hours of tourism spots, and their contact numbers. Now, the tour guide has in-depth details about tourist places in Fort Kochi.

Travellers who scan the QR code displayed at tourism locales and properties will get an interactive e-brochure about the state’s tourism centres. The virtual guide will give information on tour packages and properties. The e-brochure works in auto mode too and provides highlights of tourist destinations, along with short videos and high-resolution pictures.

The ‘Table of Contents’ and ‘Pages’ tabs give you the freedom to go to any page at any time. If required, you can download selected pages or the entire content in pdf format. The distance to the nearby railway station, airport and bus stand, the timings and the phone number of the destination are displayed on the left side of the page. All of them have embedded links. With a single click, you can visit the respective websites or the social media accounts of the destinations.
