Chelsea does a virtual tour of Alappuzha. Kerala Tourism Minister says ‘Make it real’
Chelsea F.C. did a virtual tour of Alappuzha and the Tourism Minister P. A. Mohammad Riyaz put up a lovely invite to the much-adored soccer club for a real tour.
“Don’t just make it virtual tour. Make it real. A Hearty welcome to God’s Own Country, where football is loved as much as life. Enjoy Alleppey, Venice of the East”, Shri Riyas posted on Instagram.
The poster of Chelsea F.C. on Instagram celebrated the enchanting beauty of Alappuzha.
“The beauty of Kerala! The Blues visit the scenic backwater of Alappuzha as part of the virtual tour,” the post read, featuring its players Reece James, Enzo Fernandez and Kai Havertz.
The Minister said that the virtual tour by Chelsea appreciating the beauty of Kerala was really heartening. He added that Kerala Tourism will host the visitors as its most treasured guests and take them around the state.
Chelsea has a good fan following in the state, where football is the most watched and played sport, cutting across social and rural-urban divides, the Minister said. He also hoped that Chelsea`s appreciation of Kerala`s beauty will further strengthen the state’s global connect, especially with soccer-lovers from all continents.
Kerala Tourism and Chelsea have always enjoyed a close bond. Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, accompanied by his wife Lalla, had joined the world premiere of a three-minute film on Kerala, 'Your Moment is waiting,' at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea in September 2010. "Kerala is a dream place,” said Drogba then, after the screening.
