The Idukki Arch Dam is one of the highest arch dams in Asia. A parabolic marvel, the dam greets visitors at the Kuravan and Kurathi hills in Idukki. The site itself is awe-inspiring, considering the sheer magnitude of the structure and the purpose it serves. Nearby lies the Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary where one can seek solace in Nature. The Cheruthoni dam being 138 m tall is the largest. Constructed across the Periyar river, Cheruthoni dam is a concrete gravity dam close to the Idukki Arch Dam and is part of the Idukki Hydroelectric project.
