Kerala Tourism makes a strong presence at ITB Berlin

Kerala Tourism has made a strong impression at ITB Berlin with its captivating experiential products and initiatives catering to the demands of post-COVID travellers. The world's top travel trade show resumed its in-person mode after holding it virtually for the past two years in the shadow of the pandemic.

Kerala's 122 sq. m. pavilion showcasing the subject “The Magical Everyday” at the March 7-9 event featured a pair of enormous Kettukaala (models of huge effigies of bulls seen at temple festivals in Kerala). Global tourism industry professionals attended the event to network, conduct business, and make decisions.

At the hybrid in-person event, which brought together more than 5,500 exhibiting enterprises from 161 nations, the Kerala pavilion had 13 co-exhibitors under the direction of the state tourism department's Principal Secretary, Mr K. S. Srinivas, and Director, Mr P. B. Nooh.

The Hon. Indian Ambassador to Germany Mr H. E. Parvathaneni Harish IFS, Mr Arvind Singh, Secretary - Ministry of Tourism, India, along with the Kerala Tourism Secretary and the Director, officially opened the Kerala booth.

The exhibitors at this year's ITB Berlin edition of the world's leading event that determines the future of travel brought attention to the worldwide changes affecting the tourism industry by demonstrating key trends that characterize the needs and preferences of the travel industry at large.

With our distinctive products and ground-breaking efforts, we were able to make a powerful statement in front of the top figures in the international tourism business. The commercial relationships that took place during the event will significantly boost the state's tourist sector, according to Kerala Tourism Principal Secretary Mr K. S. Srinivas.

“Last year, we attracted more domestic tourists than ever before,” said Mr P. B. Nooh, Director of Kerala Tourism. “The active participation of Kerala in big events like ITB Berlin will greatly contribute to restoring the state's position as a desirable destination for international travellers from this year onward.”
