Shankumugham in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram Forays into Destination Wedding Club

Shankumugham, one of the most scenic beaches in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, has forayed into the list of wedding destinations. The beach hosted the maiden destination wedding on November 30. Mr Riyas Ebrahim and Ms Anakha S. Shanu became the first couple to tie the knot at Shankumugham wedding destination.

The event, conducted at a grand venue, had a lavish spread, a DJ and a water drum performance. The government plans to expand the concept of destination wedding to all the tourist destinations in the state, and the first wedding at Shankumugham is a part of this big initiative. The entire project at Shankumugham including the wedding destination spot, night life like cafe, fish area and gaming area, cost about Rs 2 crore.

For destination weddings the property will be given on lease for Rs 75 lakh with GST, and parties concerned can customise their wedding as per their requirements. Couples can register through the DTPC or through the social media platform.
