Tropical Titans are Champions of Kerala’s CBL-3
The over three-month-long Champions Boat League (CBL) ended on a high note with the President’s Trophy Boat Race held at the Ashtamudi Lake, Kollam.
Tropical Titans emerged victorious for the third time at the Champions Boat League. The Titans finished the finals of the third season (CBL-3) with 116 points. Coast Dominators (Nadubhagom Chundan of UBC Kainakary club) and Raging Rowers (Police Boat Club of Mahadevikadu Kattil Thekethil) finished second and third with 109 and 89 points respectively.
Tropical Titans bagged Rs 25 lakhs as a cash prize while the runners-up received a cash prize of Rs 15 lakhs each. Tropical Titans clocked 4:18:96 in the finals. Raging Rowers and Ripple Breakers put on a spirited show with timings of 4:19:83 and 4:22:83 respectively.
Nine snake boats participated in the race. Tropical Titans had been champions earlier in 2019 and 2022. CBL-3 kicked off on August 12 in Alappuzha with the Nehru Trophy Boat race. Mr N. K. Premachandran, MP, inaugurated the CBL-3 final and the President`s trophy race. Mr M. Mukesh, MLA, presided over the function.
Air Marshal Balakrishna Manikantan was the chief guest at the concluding event. Mr M. Noushad, MLA, Mayor Mr Prasanna Ernest, District Panchayat President Mr P. K. Gopan and Collector Ms N. Devidas were present on the occasion.
