Veli Tourist Village Gets an International Convention Centre
The Veli tourist village, a prominent tourist destination in Thiruvananthapuram, now has an additional attraction - an International Convention Centre. This lakeside facility spans 27,000 sq. ft, and was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Mr P. A. Mohamed Riyas, marking a significant milestone in the second phase of the infrastructural development of the village.
With a budget of Rs 20 crores, the project incorporates premium features that adhere to global benchmarks, enhancing the state's stature as a rapidly developing MICE tourism hub. The convention centre's first floor offers seating for approximately 750 attendees, complemented by a dining hall capable of accommodating 300 guests. Furthermore, the parking complex provides space for approximately 600 vehicles, ensuring ample parking availability.
The tourism village, bustling with visitors from near and far, is not only a favoured destination for families but also a constantly evolving hub with new attractions. Among the recent additions is the popular Miniature Train, which delights children, and is a key feature of the initial phase of infrastructure development.
Smt. Arya Rajendran, Mayor, Corporation; Ward Councillor Mr Clinus Rozario and Mr Manoj Kini, MD, KTIL, were present on the inaugural function of the convention centre.
