Thirunalloorsthanam Sree Bhadrakali Temple located at Eraviperoor in Pathanamthitta is famous for the annual Padayani festival. Popularly known as Vishu Padayani, the festival here begins with Choottu vaipu and this ritual is continued for next three days. On the second day, the vinodam or comic interlude of Vazhipokan is also performed. The third day Velichappadu is the vinodam. From fourth day onwards Kolam performance begins and the first to come is Pancha Kolam. Next day after the performance of Thavadi, kolams Kuthira and Bhairavi comes to the stage.
Sixth day is for Adavi and is held with prior rituals like Thavadi, Koladi and Paana. Kolam Thullal of Kuthira, Bhairavi, Yakshi, Pakshi, Marutha and Kalamadan can be seen on the Adavi day. The seventh day is for Edapadayani. The day also witnesses the ritual of Kalamezhuthum Pattum. The big day comes on Vishu and is the Valiya Padayani. The Padayani rituals at Eraviperoor come to an end with the performance of Mangala Bhairavi Kolam.
