Padayani performance of Bhagavathy Kavu Devi Temple at Pullad is held on the Bharani asterisk in the Malayalam month of Kumbham. During the olden days, there used to be a ten-day festival which has been now celebrated for three days.

Choottu vaipu is the first ritual. At Pullad, a family called Anthaikadu has the privilege of the ritual of Choottu vaipu. Breaking of coconut, Thappu beats and astrological searches and, finally, Kalasam Kottal are the rituals held for Padayani festival at Pullad. Then Oracle dance begins.

Kotti Vili is a ritual that is performed for three days. After the Thappu Melam, Kappoli and Thavadi Dance takes place which is then followed by later a large group dance called Nirathi Thullal. After the mass dance, the Shiva Kolam appears on the stage and is by Pisachu Kolam and Marutha Kolam. Vinodams (entertainments) like Sarkkarakudam, Appoppan and Ammuma, Anthony and woman and the Brahmin is performed in the stage.

Anthara Yakshi, Sundara Yakshi, and Arakki Yakshi are the Yakshi Kolams that dance at Pullad. A group of fortune-tellers sings Maaran Pattu in order to exorcise the women in the morning once the Pooppada is over. When the drummer beats, the kolam dances into a frenzy. Then everybody shouts in merriment and circumambulates the temple with prayers and the Padayani comes to an end.
