Pazhaya Palli, located 21 km from Kottayam in Changanacherry, is a 950-year-old mosque renowned in Central Travancore. The annual Thangal Adiyanthiram festival features a grand community feast with biryani made from meat and two tonnes of rice offered by devotees. The Chandanakuddam festival at the mosque is a major event, drawing large crowds to Changanacherry town.
