Kuttichira Mishkal Mosque
One of the oldest Mosques in Malabar, Mishkil is unique with its style and architecture. A major pilgrim center, Kuttichira Mishkil Mosque has both cultural and historical significance. The four-storeyed edifice got its name from the Arabic merchant Nakhooda Mishkal, who built it in the 14 th century. Even though a part of the mosque was burned by the Portuguese in 1510, the charred portions still remain. This wooden mosque has 47 doors, 24 carved pillars, and a big prayer hall.
