Nileshwaram Palace, Kasaragod

A prominent cultural monument, Nileshwaram Palace in Kasaragod district was the residence of the Nileshwaram Rajas who were believed to have come from Kozhikode nearly 600 years ago. Built in the Kerala style of architecture, the two-storeyed building showcases fine craftsmanship and spectacular woodwork of the times. The town is also famous for its numerous kavus (snake groves), temple festivals and cultural institutions.
