Ninabali art form

Ninabali is an art form popular in Kannur and Kozhikode districts and is a visual presentation of the mythical battle between Bhadrakali and Dharikan. The accompanying instruments for Ninabali are one Thavil, a barrel-shaped drum and three chenda and a cylindrical drum. The art form is usually staged at Bhadrakali shrines and Kottam - the designated places in villages where the Theyyam is performed.
