Ranipuram Hills – A Trekker’s Paradise in Kasaragod

Ranipuram Hills, located about 85 km from Kasaragod and 43 km from Kanhangad, is a breathtaking hill station standing at 750 meters above sea level. Once known as Madathumala, this scenic destination offers glimpses of stunning landscapes that merge with the Coorg mountains of Karnataka. The hills, with evergreen shola forests, vast meadows, wildflowers and moors creating an ideal setting for exploration, are a haven for Nature lovers and trekkers. The fresh breeze, enriched with the medicinal scent of lemongrass, is said to have antioxidant properties, enhancing the rejuvenating experience.

A 2.5 km trek to the top rewards visitors with panoramic views of the surrounding natural beauty. Ranipuram hills is also known for occasional sightings of wild elephants, adding an element of excitement to your adventure. Visitors can easily reach Ranipuram by taking a bus from Kanhangad or by hiring a jeep from Panathady. As for accommodation, the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) offers cottages, and there are also budget-friendly stays with local residents.
