Tanur, Malappuram
One of the earliest settlements of the Portuguese, Tanur is a small fishing village in Malappuram district. It is said that in the year 1546 St Francis Xavier visited this place. The Keraladeshapuram Temple which is believed to be one of the oldest temples in the state is barely 3 km south of Tanur.
