The 500-year Vettukad Church is located in Thiruvananthapuram district, south of Kerala. Known as the Madre De Deus Church, which signifies the 'Mother of God Church,' the Vettukkad church welcomes worshippers from diverse religious backgrounds without any discrimination. The church, famous for its 'Feast of the King' (Veettukad Fest) celebration, is traditionally believed to have been visited by St. Francis Xavier between C.E. 1543 and 1547.
