Tour packages are introduced according to the festivals of Kerala. During the time of Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, a package titled ‘Nattinpurangalil Onam Unnam, Ona Sammanagal Vaangam’,was introduced. The package offered travellers the unique opportunity to experience the grandeur of Onam. The project organised Onam packages for tourists by collaborating small enterprises run by the local community and Responsible Tourism units. Apart from helping the tourism sector, the project benefited small merchants and traditional artists as well. The main attraction of the event was ‘Onam Special Gramayatrakal’ (Onam special village tours), and village life experiences. The tourists were allowed to participate in the onam progrmmes arranged by various clubs, libraries, resident associations and so forth and were given Onam gifts from the Responsible Tourism ventures in the area.
