Indira M G hails from Maravanthuruthu, a globally recognized tourism destination. A retired government employee with 28 years of experience in the National Employment Services Department, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and raising awareness about self-employment opportunities in tourism. Indira is also actively involved in women empowerment initiatives led by various departments and NGOs and is an accredited career guide.She began providing tourism-related employment ideas to women seeking self-employment when the STREET Programme was launched for the Maravanthuruthu Grama Panchayat. As a Trainer of Trainers (ToT) in Women-Friendly Tourism, Indira has also participated in destination visits to gather insights from the public. All her efforts focus on promoting self-employment and career development. The training she received from the Responsible Tourism Mission has empowered her to introduce tourism business and employment opportunities, especially for women in the workforce.
