She has worked under various capacity in Punjab Govt. Offices. She was the first woman Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur. She had worked as AMD -Markfed, Director- Higher Education, Director - Department of Social Justice, empowerment & minorities, etc.

Recently, she has been posted as Director, Tourism and Cultural Affairs and Director, Employment Generation and Skill Development.

Amrit Singh is known for her work to use digital innovation to improve the education sector. She has spoken about the importance of collaboration between the government, industry, and academia to bridge the skill gap.
