Ms. Poonam Chand is the Additional Director of Tourism in the Government of Uttarakhand. She oversees the overall tourism development, skill development, and tourism policy framework, and serves as the State Nodal Officer for Rural Tourism, Adopt a Heritage, and the NIDHI Portal for the Ministry of Tourism, Uttarakhand. With 30 years of extensive experience in sustainable and responsible tourism, she has represented Uttarakhand at numerous national and international events, promoting the rich heritage of Dev Bhumi Uttarakhand. Her significant contributions have garnered various prestigious awards for the state, including the ICRT India and Subcontinent Awards 2024 for Employing and Upskilling Local Communities, Best Tourism Village 2023, VFS Global Times Travel Awards 2019, and multiple National Tourism Awards.
