Elisa Spampinato

Elisa Spampinato is a Community Tourism Consultant, Connector, and Storyteller with international experience in local Sustainable Development through tourism and Community-Based Tourism, starting in Brazil in 2005. She has supported community projects in over 30 countries, providing communication and marketing services in four languages, both virtually and on the ground.

Elisa’s innovative approach to storytelling has made her an invaluable consultant to tourism entrepreneurs, SMMEs, national and regional Tourism Boards, NGOs, and private companies.

She specialises in helping destinations highlight their positive impact stories and uncover the rich, often untold, cultural narratives of Indigenous communities.

She designs and delivers tailored capacity-building programmes on Storytelling and ethical marketing, which aim to strengthen the skills of local entrepreneurs and represent a tool for self-empowerment that will turn them into future local storytellers.

She has a strong academic background in Anthropology, Social Sciences and Development Studies which allows her to focus in-depth on the cultural aspect of the tourism experiences, about which she writes regularly.
