Lenny has been in the tourism industry for quite a while before joining academia. She is a licensed tourist guide and a national assessor for tour planning competency. Currently, she is affiliated with Universitas Asa Indonesia Jakarta, the Co-Director of the Southeast Asia Research Academy (SEARA), and the committee member of the International Centre on Responsible Tourism in Southeast Asia (ICRT-SEA). She is also a certified tourism village trainer from the Indonesia Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with specializations in tour guiding and tour planning. Since 2018, she has been working with the local communities at three tourism villages in West Java Province for capacity and entrepreneurship development, especially with women and the youth of the villages. Some of her published works on responsible tourism can be found at Journal of Responsible Tourism Management where she discussed Responsible Tourism Management and Community Orientation, and An Outlook on Responsible Tourism in Southeast Asia.
