Navara Eco Tourism is a century-old family-run farm currently owned by P Narayanan Unny. It was developed by his father M Ramachandra Menon, 60 years ago. Navara Farm has adopted organic farming methods and has been at the forefront of addressing ecology, environmental, and conservation issues. In the year 2007, the farm and its products were certified as organic and have taken initiatives in forming rice clusters for Navara and Palakkadan Matta varieties of rice. Unny received the Plant Genome Savior Community Recognition Award from the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Right Authority (PPV&FRA), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
