Edayilekkad Kavu: Here we can see a patch of forest and group of friendly monkeys. This kavu is fondly called as Monkey Island by visitors. One can spend time here feeding the monkeys and enjoying the greenery. It is situated 1 km away from Valiyaparamba Bridge.
Weaving society: The process of weaving Khadhi is simple and traditional and is completely done by hand. In Valiyaparamba one can see a Khadhi unit for producing wool. It is located near Edayilekkad Kavu.
Fishing: Fishing is one of the main activities of the people living in this island. Here one can enjoy a variety of fishing techniques using sticks. Mr. Sukumaran will show you the traditional techniques of fishing.
Handicraft making, Anachamayam: Handicraft products are made completely by hand or by using simple tools and are usually used as decorative objects. Mr. Rajesh is one of the famous Anachamayam makers in Valiyaparamba. He will teach you the art of making handicraft products and Anachamayam.
Coir making: The coir making process is a traditional craft of the people of Kerala as coir is available in abundance in the State. The artisans follow the traditional as well as the mechanical process of extracting fibre, twisting, spinning and making of ropes and other products from coir.
Here one can see a big coir factory that produces handmade coir products too.
