Here is a list explaining the Do’s and Don’ts at Sabarimala
Devotees are advised to take the traditional path which is Marakkootam – Saramkuthy – Nadapanthal to reach the shrine
Strictly follow the queue to reach the 18 holy steps
Use only the Nadapanthal flyover on your return journey
Co-operate with security checks whenever required
If the dolly is required, make the payment only at the Devaswom counter
Park vehicles only at the designated parking areas
Follow the instructions of police and the Devaswom officials who are on duty
Do not climb in one go. Take rest whenever required and then proceed
Do not use mobile phones inside the temple premises
Smoking, consumption of alcohol and other illegal substances are not permissible
Weapons and explosive substances are strictly banned
Do not urinate and clear your bowels outside toilets and latrines
Breaking of coconuts in the 18 holy steps is prohibited
Do not throw away waste other than in designated dust bins
Resting is prohibited in Upper Thirumuttam or Tanthrinada
Do not kneel on the holy steps while climbing
Always seek the help of police personnel if in need
Inform the nearest police post in case of suspicious people and objects
Do not buy edible items from outlets without proper license
Do not proceed to the shrine if the area is overcrowded
You can avail medical facility at designated medical centres and Oxygen Parlours in case of emergency
Kids and elders are advised to hang identification cards around their neck
