Reckoned to be established by the legendary Sage Suka, the temple displays a traditional style of architecture with elaborate carvings and fine artistry. The temple is situated in the village of Sukapuram in Malappuram district, Kerala. Lord Shiva, in the form of Lord Dakshinamoorthy is the presiding deity here. There are four inscriptions in this temple dating to the Chera period.
Located around one kilometer east of Edappal on Palakkad route, the most important offering here is Chathusatham (offering 101 naazhy [a measure] rice to the Lord).
