Mural paintings and sculptures on the outer walls of sanctum sanctorum at Thodeekalam Siva Temple is a rare art work. Depicting Shaiva-Vaishnavite stories and village life of people, the 150 mural paintings in the temple, cover an area of about 700 sq. metre in 40 panels. Natural use of strokes and the unique colour composition are those which makes these paintings a distinctive one.
