Pazhassi Tomb
Right in the centre of the town at Mananthavady in Wayanad, there is an iconic monument that attracts visitors from far and near. It is the tomb of Pazhassi Raja, where thousands pay homage to the fierce ruler and warrior of the pre-Independence era.
In 1996 CE, an underground museum was constructed. It promotes the cultural and folklore history of Kerala. The museum displays Pazhassi Raja’s sword, various objects and equipment used by different tribal groups, coins used by several dynasties in Kerala and a collection of letters and documents of communication with the British troops. The garden is also a favourite picnic spot.
