The 'King of Sadyas' would be an apt moniker for the gigantic feast hosted at Aranmula Village annually. While most sadyas (Kerala’s very own vegetarian feast) have around 25-30 different dishes, the Aranmula Vallasadya boasts of up to 70 unique delicacies. Held as a ritual offering to the deity Lord Parthasarathy, in which the oarsmen of the snake boats are offered the feast, it is among the most massive vegetarian culinary events on the entire planet. The oarsmen themselves perform special songs for the feast, beginning by praising Lord Parthasarathy of Aranmula, and the festivities are always a vibrant and joyous affair.
