Arakkal Kettu

Arakkal Kettu or Arakkal Royal Palace was once the seat of the only Muslim Royal Family in Kerala, Arakkal Ali Rajas. It is a must-visit historical destination in Kannur that narrates the story of a bygone era.

A section of the palace has been converted to a museum that displays the artefacts of the Arakkal family including the family seal, the pathayam (the wooden box in which grain was stored), document box, royal copies of the Holy Quran, an old-fashioned telephone, swords and daggers used by the rulers, and a telescope.

The museum is closed on Mondays.
