Arattupuzha Pooram


Every year during the Malayalam month of Meenam (April/May), Arattupuzha, a sleepy hamlet in Thrissur district witnesses, one of the oldest temple festivals in Kerala Arattupuzha Pooram.

The festival is conducted in Sree Sastha Temple. Popularly known as the Mother of all Pooram festivals, Arattupuzha Pooram bestows you a magnificent sight of caparisoned elephants and staging of percussion ensembles as part of the ceremony called Sasthavinte Melam.

As part of a ritual called Devamela, 23 deities from different temples in Thrissur are carried to the temple.
