Athirappilly

Thrissur welcomes travellers not only with her heritage sites and cultural centres but also with a majestic waterfall, Athirappilly.  Athirappilly is Kerala's most famous and largest waterfall.

Situated around 63 km from Thrissur town, Athirappilly offers you picturesque locations for a perfect weekend trip. Lying at the entrance to the Sholayar forest ranges, this majestic shower of pearls is a part of the Chalakudy River that originates from the Western Ghats.

Athirappilly is a bird watchers paradise. Researchers have found four endangered species of the Hornbill here.

Popular nearby tourist attractions are Thumboormozhi Dam, Vazhachal Waterfalls and Dream World amusement park.
