Attukal Pongala

Attukal Pongala is the annual festival of the Attukal Devi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The ten-day festival culminates with the offering of 'Pongala' (a sweet delicacy) to the goddess. Additionally, it holds the distinction of being the world's largest annual gathering of women, officially recognized by the Guinness World Records. The streets of Thiruvananthapuram would be flooded with ardent devotees offering 'pongala' to the goddess. The festival typically occurs in either February or March according to the Malayalam calendar.
