Bekal Fort

These scenic clips are of Bekal - a charming little sea-side village in the northernmost district of Kerala, Kasaragod. Pleasing to the eye, ear and heart, Bekal has a picturesque landscape, rumbling beaches, backwaters and hill stations. A simple people who proudly uphold their fascinating traditions inhabit this land.

Apart from the natural beauty one thing you cannot miss is the 300-yr old Bekal fort. The Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC), which supervises the Bekal Project, the Government's special tourism project, actively participates in the development of the area by acquiring plots of land and then giving it out for investors who want to build resorts.

The main thrust of the Bekal project is eco-friendly, sustainable tourism development of the area to ensure that while there is continuous development, the hamlet loses none of its pristine grandeur in the years to come.
