Dry Prawns with Cabbage
Ingredients Dry prawns (small size) – 1 cup Cabbage (thinly sliced) – 2 cups Onion (thinly sliced) – 1 cup Grated coconut – 1 cup Green chillies (chopped) – 5 no. Garam masala – ½ tsp Garlic – 4 flakes Cumin seeds – 1 tsp Ginger (chopped) – ½ tsp Pepper powder – ½ tsp Turmeric powder – ½ tsp Salt Oil Coriander leaves
Ingredients for seasoning Mustard seeds – 1 tsp Urad dal (split) – 1 tsp Curry leaves Red chillies – 3 no. Method of preparation Take three teaspoons of oil in a kadai (big pan) and heat it. Put mustard. When it starts to splutter, add urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves, ginger and garlic. Stir well. Now add cumin seeds, green chillies, dry prawns, turmeric powder, crushed pepper and garam masala. Pour some water and add salt. Close the vessel and cook for eight minutes.
Now remove the lid of the vessel. Stir a bit and add big onions, cabbage and grated coconut. Stir well. Cover the vessel and cook for some more time. Open the lid to check whether all the water content has been absorbed. Stir again. Close the lid and cook for some more time.
Serve the Dry Prawns with Cabbage hot after garnishing it with chopped coriander leaves.
