Kannur


Kannur is famed for the ritual artform Theyyam. This exquisite art form plays an integral part in the culture of this amazing land. Formerly known as Cannanore, Marco Polo christened it as the ‘Great Emporium Of Spice Trade.

It is believed that the place had interactions and trade relations with the rest of the world including the Greeks, Arabs and Romans since the time of King Solomon.

Kannur is every traveller's dream location. It has plenty of tourist destinations including, forts, temples, beaches and wildlife sanctuaries. Some popular tourist attractions in Kannur are St Angelo Fort, Payyambalam Beach, Paithalmala, Madayipara, Handloom village etc.
