Kettukazhcha Procession

The video presents here is one of the many longstanding temple rituals in Kerala, called as 'Kettukazcha' held at the Sharangkavu Devi Temple at Venmani in Alappuzha district. The ritual involves the ceremonial procession of beautifully decorated, resplendent towers onboard country boats, to reach the temple where the deity resides. Likewise, each geographical division, lying close to the temple will have their own Kettukazcha prepared by the local people, for whom the presiding deity (Goddess) is the guiding force, who bestows prosperity, harmony, wealth and all good things in life.
