Kollam

Once known as Quilon, Kollam is replete with tourist attractions. For peace seekers, Kollam has the Ashtamudi Backwaters and Munroe Island. Kollam invites adventure enthusiasts to Thenmala Ecotourism Centre and Jatayu Earth's  Centre. Other popular tourist destinations are Palaruvi Waterfalls, Shendurney and Alumkadavu.

The place is home to some of the most beautiful temples built in traditional Kerala style. These are important relics of Kollam's glorious past. One can also go and relax at the nearby beaches, namely Kollam, Thirumullavaram and Thangasseri.
