Manarcad Perunnal - Days of Devotion and Festivities


Manarcad Perunnal or Ettunoyambu is the annual feast of St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral at Manarcad in Kottayam district. Thousands of devotees flock to the festival which is usually held over the first eight days of September. A procession carrying the sacred golden cross, known as the ‘Rassa’, is the highlight of the festival. The devotees participate in the procession holding 'Muthukkuda' (decorated parasols).
