Munroe Island
Munroe Thuruth is a cluster of eight islands situated in the Kollam district. The place is known for its pristine backwaters and lively rural life. This backwater island village has been named after Colonel John Munroe, the British Resident of erstwhile Travancore State.
Munroe is home to not only diverse flora and fauna but also to several migratory birds. The District Tourism Promotion Council offers boating here.
