Nagaraja and Nagakanni theyyams are related to serpent worship. Nagakanni is also known as Nagakanyaka.

Apart from Nagaraja and Nagakanni, there are other Naga theyyams such as Nagopathi, Nagathan etc. The ornaments and outlook of Naga theyyams are unique.

Nagopothi's hair is also known as Nagamudi. Naga ornaments can be seen in many ornaments of other theyyams. It is customary to paint snakes on the trunks and foreheads. It is said that there is a face writing called Nagam Thathezhuth
