The festival, Nenmara Vallangi Vela gives you a fabulous occasion to immerse yourself in manifold hues, art forms, fireworks and elephant pageant. Organised by two desams (regions) namely Nenmara and Vallangi the festival is held every year at the Nellikulangara Bhagavathy  Temple the presiding deity of which is Goddess Bhagavathy.

Ana Pandal, or elephant marquee an arch-like structure richly decorated with lights, holds your  attention. Kummatti, Karivela and Andivela, some of the folk arts of the region are performed during the festival. The two desams compete in panchavadyam, the traditional percussion  orchestra.
