Onavillu
Long-standing Tradition Onavillus or colourful hand-painted bows are crafted by the artisans of a particular family in Thiruvananthapuram during the time of Onam. Replete with all the incarnations of Lord Vishnu, these ceremonial bows are then offered by the Vilayil Veedu family at Karamana to the deity of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple on the auspicious Thiruvonam day. The product of a hoary tradition, Onavillu oozes artistic grandeur and exotic richness.
