Payippad Puthan Chundan has a century-old history of being part of the snake boat races. This is the third Vallam of Payippad. The first Vallam was sold by Gopalakrishnan in 57. Narayanachari completed the works of Payippadan Chadian in the 70s. The new Chundan was again renovated in 2002.
