Kettukazhcha at Thrikkadavoor Temple

The eduppu kuthira (ceremonial horse) is an offering to Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of Thrikkadavoor Temple by the people of each desom (county) surrounding the temple.  Eight such ceremonial horses are brought to the shores on boats and then taken to the Thrikkadavoor Temple located on the banks of the Ashtamudi Lake in Kollam. The sight of the majestic horses is quite captivating. This ritual is part of the annual festival at temple.
